An orientation program was held in the Faculty of Forestry Conference Hall for our Forest Engineering and Forest Industry Engineering Department students who joined our faculty family in the 2026–2027 Academic Year.
The program, which introduced our university, our faculty, and our departments, was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan ÖZÇELİK, Head of the Department of Student Affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Cevriye ALTINTAŞ, Engineer Dr. Ahmet BEKTEŞ from the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, Assist. Prof. Dr. Yeliz TÜKOĞLU and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra BAYAR from the International Relations Coordination Office, along with our faculty's academic and administrative staff and our first-year students.
The program opened with a moment of silence and the recitation of the National Anthem. In the opening session, Head of the Department of Forest Engineering Prof. Dr. H. Oğuz ÇOBAN, Head of the Department of Forest Industry Engineering Prof. Dr. H. Turgut ŞAHİN, Head of the Department of Wildlife Ecology and Management Prof. Dr. Ahmet MERT, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry Prof. Dr. Hasan ALKAN, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan ÖZÇELİK addressed the students, conveying their good wishes for the new academic year.
Following the opening remarks, an introductory presentation on the Faculty of Forestry was given by Res. Asst. Elif Şeyda KESİK, an introductory presentation on the Department of Forest Engineering was given by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ebru Hatice TIĞLI KAYTANLIOĞLU, and an introductory presentation on the Department of Forest Industry Engineering was given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Ümit YALÇIN.
Information regarding student affairs was provided by Head of the Department of Student Affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Cevriye ALTINTAŞ, while Engineer Dr. Ahmet BEKTEŞ from the Department of Health, Culture and Sports informed the students about dining services, social and cultural activities, sports services, psychological counseling and guidance services, support services, and student clubs.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Yeliz TÜKOĞLU and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra BAYAR provided information about the activities of our university's International Relations Coordination Office, and about international exchange and mobility opportunities, particularly Erasmus+.
At the end of the program, our academic and administrative staff came together with our students for a group photo. The orientation program concluded with a "pişi" (traditional fried dough) treat served to our students, academic and administrative staff in the faculty garden.
