Forest Engineering

The department launched its educational activities in the fall term of 1995-1996 academic years. In this department, we provide education, instruction, research and counseling services on the following subject matter areas;

  • Forest botany
  • Forest economics
  • Forest entomology and conservation
  • Forest management
  • Forest transportation and geodesy and photogrammetry
  • Silviculture
  • Soil science and ecology
  • Watershed management

 

Following 4 years (8 terms) of education with 65 courses (240 ECTS); successful students receive a B.Sc. Diploma and are called Forest Engineers. Before graduation, each forest engineer candidate is obliged to complete an internship related to “Forest Engineering” and graduation project under the supervision of a teaching staff. After graduated, they will have a chance to work in variety of positions at Ministry of Forest and Water Affairs and other public and private sector jobs related to natural resource management.
