As part of their professional development,
students of both Forest Engineering and Forest Products Engineering
at the IUAS Faculty of Forestry complete a one-semester vocational training
programme in public or private forestry enterprises. This immersive
hands-on experience enables them to apply classroom knowledge to real
operational settings. Throughout the training period, students gain practical
skills in forest inventory and management, silvicultural applications, mapping
and geospatial technologies, forest protection practices, and the industrial
processes of wood production and manufacturing. By working directly with field
experts and industry professionals, they strengthen their technical
competencies, problem-solving abilities and understanding of workplace
dynamics, ensuring they graduate as well-prepared and confident forestry
professionals.
