Within the scope of the Forest Protection course, senior students of the Department of Forest Engineering conducted a one-day educational field trip to the Antalya International Forestry Training Center and the Antalya Regional Directorate of Forestry on April 15, 2026, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Mustafa AVCI.

As part of the visit to the International Forestry Training Center, Chief Engineer Mr. Abdullah SARI provided a general introduction to the facility, followed by a session at the fire training department. In this section, students were interactively briefed on the content of fire trainings provided at the center, the technologies utilized, and future development plans. Furthermore, the Forest Fire Fighting Training Simulator (OYMES) was introduced, and hands-on training modules designed to enhance personnel experience and decision-making skills were explained in detail. Additionally, students had the opportunity to observe the practical field trainings conducted for personnel as part of the 2026 fire safety program.

The field trip continued with a visit to the Antalya Regional Directorate of Forestry. During this session, Mr. Zeki TUNCER, the Antalya Forest Aviation Operations Manager, delivered a presentation on forest fires, sharing valuable information and professional experiences in an interactive dialogue.
